You hear of a pool of commercial leases or loans that might be for sale and you'd like to get a referral fee. We're looking for various type of pools and portfolios:

Example: Pool of used truck & trailer financings

Equipment: User commercial trucks, 2 to 7 years old
Size: $1 million
Term: 60 Mos.
Structure: 28 months weighted average remaining term

Hurdles to transaction:

• Small, weak obligors, no recent credit reports
• Unknown condition of trucks & trailers
• Declining portfolio performance
• Incomplete portfolio data from servicer
• Quick funding required, all of nothing

Reasons for approval:

• Portfolio owner/services has audited financials
• Obligor files and titles are in good order
• Good secondary market for trucks & trailers
• Sufficient accurate porfolio data

Summary:
We reviewed portfolio data and a sampling of files then estimated the value of the trucks and trailers. We offered to buy the pool at a discount that was acceptable to buyer. We quickly prepared documents and funded the purchase.
